The fact of the matter is...

Things have begun to look up for me. I am a happier healthier version of me. I rise in the morning between 8 and 10am. Whereas I used to rise in the late afternoon. I spent today having lunch with an old classmate, who now has a daughter and for the first time in my life actually enjoyed spending time with a child, I think I'm growing up, and for the first time in my lifetime I think I may eventually see myself as a father. I am losing weight steadily, averaging about 4 pounds a week, it's not super fast I know, but it's better than gaining right? I drink and smoke less now, and I'm reading much more. Just checking in, with everyone.

Things I have done for my new year's resolution to do something for myself to make myself happier each and everyday.

Jan 1st - Saw a movie and had a few beers with my friends John & Renate
Jan 2nd - Saw another movie
Jan 3rd - Got a few beers at night, and got myself ice cream before work.
Jan 4th - Had lunch with my friend John to see him off, and got my film developed
Jan 5th - Went to Napa with family
Jan 6th - Went out of my way to let myself read all day
Jan 7th - Went out to lunch with my old friend, and bought myself some new Jeans
Jan 8th (tomorrow) - I'm thinking about going to the batting cages or on a bike ride.
Jan 9th - Same as 8th

What's everyone up to?
It's been awhile.
How's everyone's resolutions going?
I'll be returning to a house with internet full time in the next week.

So I'll be seeing ya'll soon!
-Mike

hello stranger! the weight loss is a healthy number. so you're doing good :)
Haha thanks, how're things?
hopefully getting better.
4 lbs. a week is borderline unhealthy weight loss haha, most of the time people go even slower than that.

I'm like 1lb if that.
Well I'm eating primarily salad and lean protein and taking a jog each day and working hard to keep moving as much as possible. I'm pretty happy with it thus far. You should come by and read some of the screenplay I'm working on... a forewarning it is totally not formatted, I like to go back and format them as I proof read since my writing goes better in a stream of consciousness usually. I really wanna either find funding on this project or sell/option the screenplay off. Dunno how I want to do it or how to start about any of it, but time holds all answers I suppose
Don't even think of selling/optioning off anything until you have a full 100+ page screenplay.
Of this much, I am aware, the current mission is write first, worry later
-Must. Be. Nice. [j/k yay you]

-Exactly, 'kids' have a bad name for no reason. Seeing past it definitely links to maturity. The rest is all a bunch of discriminatory bullshit.
True, but they can be grating, my main issue with kids was always that they didn't like me, so I in turn did not like them. I don't do any of the baby talk stuff, and I'm not a very animated person so they generally get bored with me quite quickly.
Now with me, depending on the situation, I put on my most unfriendly, intimidating manner so they won't think I'm one of their little friends or a potential playmate because if you give a moose a muffin...

I guess it can be grating if you're not used to it. I was raised around children. I'm currently in a house with 5 of them and have been happily ignoring them all. I think people put too much emphasis on what the children *feel*. They cry? They cry. They hate me? Then they hate me. They're bored? Then they're bored. I don't give a damn what the kid thinks about the situation, or me. It's a child. I don't care. They don't truly even care. They'll be over it within the hour and you'll be their best friend. We've all been ignored as children. Its nearly a rite of passage.

It's kinda like, "Awweee, your dog's not licking me, and he isnt wagging his tail!...He's walking away from me...He doesn't 'like' me!"... who cares? And that's where I think maturity comes into play.

Even if a child doesn't take to you, they will also most likely forget all about you within the hour, day, week... etc.
Oo. too long. i ranted there for a bit. Sorry.
Just a bit
Oh my goodness. I am so proud of you! I wish I had the same will power with weight loss. You are doing so great. I'm also glad you are feeling happier.

I didn't make any resolutions this year. They tend to never work for me.

The children thing is funny. Three years ago my brother had a daughter and everyone thought I was not the maternal type, but for some reason I changed. My brother's wife who I adore couldn't change her nappies so I did. And now my niece is 3 and I adore her. I guess it depends on who the kid is as well.

I'm really glad you're doing well Mike. Makes me happy :)
Heh, thanks a bunch. I doubt you need to worry too much about weight loss though.
ah so you burnt off all the calories on the beer & ice cream day, very wise. ;-)

glad to hear you're doing well.
Wow, you're doing a lot better than I am. I just told myself I would eat little to no wheat :)
Why no wheat?
Apparently, based on the theory that different blood types respond to different foods in different ways, someone with an O blood type should avoid wheat because it is harmful to their body, making them sluggish and over weight and in more extreme cases, allergic.

As an O blood type, I thought I would test some of this and see if it makes me more energetic and slim down a bit :)
What are the things other blood types should avoid do you know? I'm curious
There was a book published, "Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type," by several physicians, based on their research on various blood types and ethnicities and the blood's response to different foods. Apparently when a person of a certain blood type "X" eats food "A" their blood has different responses to it. Some blood types seemed to benefit from certain foods, where as other bloods coagulated and were hindered by the food item, some blood experienced no change and those foods were considered "neutral" having no affect on body chemistry.

Different blood types mean a different chemistry of the body, so it would make sense that different blood types respond to different foods, differently.

There's a list of the blood types and the foods that are beneficial for them, the foods that are neutral and the foods that are harmful :)

Thanks for the info miss
You are quite welcome, sir ;)
